Invisalign & Clear Braces
Invisalign is a modern alternative approach to straightening your teeth.
About This Treatment
Like conventional braces, It allows you to achieve a more aligned, harmonic smile without the usual inconveniences associated with orthodontic metal braces.
Invisalign is made with 3-D computer imaging technology and has been proven effective.
What is Invisalign?
- Invisalign is a system that utilizes a series of clear plastic aligners that are customized to each patient
- Each tray contributes to gradually reposition your teeth.
- They are tailor-made therefore they are comfortable to wear.
- They are removable and can easily be removed when eating, or when brushing and flossing.
Each Invisalign tray allows a carefully controlled movement that has been determined by the dentist in the planning stage of the treatment. Invisalign allows therefore a very precise and efficient process where certain teeth can be targeted to move at a particular stage.
On average, each aligner moves the teeth 0.25 mm closer to the desired prescribed position.

- What to Expect on The Day
Invisalign aligners are to be worn throughout the day and while you sleep. We recommend wearing them 22 hours a day for the treatment to be successful.
You can remove them to eat, drink, brush and floss.
Every few weeks, you will receive a brand new set of aligners. You will continue to visit the clinic in order for us to monitor your progress.
Invisalign can be summarized in a simple 3 step process:
- Consultation
At the consultation we will discuss your concerns, understand what goals you wish to achieve. We will assess your teeth, discuss treatment options, explain in detail the Invisalign journey. We will also take digital pictures of your teeth. If you wish to start your treatment, we will also take some records and x-rays.
- Clincheck
At this appointment we will be able to show you a video of your treatment from start to finish. This video of your teeth movement is called a Clincheck. You will be able to see where attachments will be placed and where space will be needed. This Clincheck review can also be done remotely in a virtual consultation. You will be able to decide if you like the end result and if you would like to make some adjustments. Only once you are happy with the Clincheck, will we approve the manufacturing of your aligners.
- First Aligner Fit
This appointment happens in the office only. We will deliver your first set of aligners and go over with you how to maintain them and wear them.
- Do I need retainers after I am done with my Invisalign treatment? How long will I need to wear my retainers?
Retainers are crucial to the long-Term success of any orthodontic treatment.Teeth have an inclination to move back to their original position, putting you right back where you started. The solution to this problem: the retainer.
Retainers must be worn at night for a lifetime in order to keep your teeth in the position they will be at the end of the treatment.
- What are Vivera retainers?
Vivera retainers are the retainers created by Invisalign. They have a number of benefits that make them attractive to both dentists and patients alike. Vivera appliances are virtually invisible and are custom-made from thermoplastic instead of metal and thick plastic. Not only does this make them far more comfortable to wear, it also ensures a more exacting fit to promote ease of use as well as efficacy.
- How many hours should I wear my Invisalign aligners? And How often should I change my Invisalign aligners?
Invisalign aligners should be worn 22 hours a day. They should only be removed to eat, drink, brush and floss. The success of the treatment is in part majorly attributed to how long you wear your aligners.
Aligners generally need to be changed to a new set every 2 weeks.
- Can I eat , smoke, drink with my Invisalign aligners?
You cannot eat with your invisalign trays in. The trays can be removed and should be while eating.
Smoking and Drinking something other than water should be avoided while the aligners are in your mouth. The residue they create could get into the aligners and stain them and create a film where bacteria could flourish. This will also cause your aligners to develop an odor over time.
- How do I clean my Invisalign aligners?
You can use soap and lukewarm water to brush away the residues and bacteria left on your aligners. Avoid using toothpaste, they are too abrasive for the aligners.
Not cleaning your aligners will result in their yellow discolouration, bacteria build up and can impair the health of your teeth.
- Can I get Invisalign only on my top or only on my bottom teeth?
Yes you can only get either your top or bottom teeth treated with Invisalign.
