Broken Tooth
A broken tooth can be the result of tooth decay, grinding, sport injury among others.
About This Condition
This is when the outer layer of the tooth has been damaged and you notice an uneven edge of your tooth. Generally those are repaired by a composite filling or composite bonding
When the biting surface of a posterior tooth is missing, it makes it harder to chew and more uncomfortable, a filling or a crown can be the solution to rebuilding the tooth
If the damage is down from the crown to the root, it increases the risk of infection. In some situation, the tooth can be repaired by a root canal and a crown; in some other cases, where there is not enough foundation to rebuild the tooth, it might need to be extracted.
